is a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Science and Technology, from New University of Lisbon (FCT/UNL). He collaborates in research with the "Benito Mahedero" Group of Electrical Application of Superconductors from the University of Extremadura, Spain. He is also a researcher at the Centre for Technologies and Systems, from UNINOVA, the Institute for the Development of New Technologies, in FCT/UNL. He has a five year diploma and a MSc. in Electrical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico from Lisbon Technical University, in the field of Robotics and Control Theory. He has gotten the PhD degree in November of 2010. During is MSc. Work he has been involved in Process Control and Industrial Applications of Artificial Intelligence, namely in a project concerning the Control and Operation of an Industrial Glass Furnace. His actual research interests include the integration of Power Applications of Superconductivity, Renewable Energies and Hydrogen Technologies. For the time being, he is mainly involved in power applications of superconductivity, namely electrical motors (linear, hysteresis and axial flux) and fault current limiters (magnetic field assisted quench and inductive). Modelling, designing and controlling these devices are his primary concerns. |
