David Inacio

was born on June 17, 1984 in Geneva, Switzerland.

In 2008 he received his MSc. degree in Electrical Engineering at Faculty of Science and Technology from New University of Lisbon (FCT/UNL) in the field of Electrical Machines and Superconductivity with subject “Numerical and experimental comparison of electromechanical properties and efficiency of HTS and ferromagnetic hysteresis motors”

Currently he is a Ph.D. student both at this faculty and at the "Benito Mahedero" Group of Electrical Application of Superconductors from the University of Extremadura, Spain. The main objective of his research is the study and understanding of superconducting axial flux disc motor with HTS elements in the rotor and an innovative control strategy based on electrically commuted number poles.

He is also a researcher at the Centre for Technologies and Systems, from UNINOVA, the Institute for the Development of New Technologies, at FCT/UNL.
